Greg Abbott has spent his entire political career positioning himself as Texas’s last line of defense against foreign religious law being imposed on Americans without their consent. He’s signed legislation, issued proclamations, directed criminal investigations, and built a re-election war chest of over a hundred million dollars on that premise. What follows is the story of what he signs every single year when nobody is paying attention, what it actually says, what it would actually do to him personally if it were ever actualized, and why the lobby that got him to sign it has spent fifty years making sure he never reads the fine print.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott hates Sharia law. He banned “Sharia compounds” (a term he used that refers to Muslim-owned subdivisions with Islamic HOAs). He also designated CAIR a terrorist organization. He directed the Texas Department of Public Safety to open criminal investigations into Islamic groups without any known ties to terror, or ties to radical Islam, apparently as a way to say, “You aren’t welcome here” (that’s not a complaint). He’s also used the word “Sharia” in official state communications with the frequency of a man who had just discovered the term and is very proud he knows it.
There’s nothing wrong with any of that religious discrimination, and we’re big fans of it. It would be great if he’d employ that kind of religious intolerance to ban the giant monkey god statue being built just outside Austin by the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple. But the Hindu Lobby doesn’t control Texas. The Jewish Lobby does, as evidenced by the fact that it just got Abbot to sign a proclamation lauding a foreign legal system that would literally cut the heads off of the Christian politicians who just voted for it, and the one who just signed this, Governor Abbot himself.
The proclamation endorsing that foreign religious legal system as “the moral foundation of Western civilization” is what I call Jewish Temu-Sharia. But its advocates refer to it as the Naohide Laws, a sophisticated legal system known as Halakha. He signs it every year, actually. If you’ve never heard of the Noahide Laws, that is the point. It’s been under the radar of most Americans for 40 years, and it’s been piling up its gubernatorial endorsements and presidential proclamations for decades. Despite being public, its entire purpose is flexing the muscle of the Jewish lobby over the American political system, a bragging right that can say, “We can get them to celebrate a legal system that would decapitate them.” There’s no bigger flex than getting politicians to sign something that, if actualized, would take their own head.
THE NOAHIDE LAWS
The Seven Laws of Noah come from the Babylonian Talmud, tractate Sanhedrin 56a, and Rabbinic Judaism holds them binding on all of humanity without exception. Every Gentile nation on earth falls under this jurisdiction, whether they consented to it or not, whether they have ever heard of it or not, and whether Greg Abbott has ever mentioned it at a campaign rally or not. The laws prohibit idolatry, blasphemy, murder, sexual immorality, theft, and eating flesh torn from a living animal, and they require courts of justice to be established. Seven rules. Sounds modest, right?. As always, the devil is in the details. And when the fine print is written by Jewish legal experts, the devil is definitely in the footnotes.
The penalties for violating the Noahide laws are capital. Sanhedrin 56a prescribes execution by decapitation for Noahides (Gentiles under the law) convicted of capital offenses. Sanhedrin 57a goes further. The Jewish Encyclopedia, published in 1906 and drawing directly from the Talmudic text, states it plainly: “With but a few exceptions, the punishment meted out to a Noachid for the transgression of any of the seven laws is decapitation.” It then specifies that the Gentile defendant “may be convicted on the testimony of one witness, even on that of relatives, but not on that of a woman. He need have had no warning from the witnesses, and a single judge may pass sentence on him.” None of those procedural shortcuts applies to Jewish defendants. Maimonides codified the same asymmetry in the Mishneh Torah, Laws of Kings 9:14. There are two distinct peoples, one legal system, and different rules for each, depending upon whether you’re Jewish or Gentile.
But the idolatry prohibition under Noahide Laws is where this gets personal for Christians. Maimonides, the most authoritative legal voice in the history of Rabbinic Judaism, ruled unambiguously that Christianity constitutes avodah zarah, forbidden idolatry, for all people, Jews and Gentiles alike. Under his ruling, Trinitarian Christianity is not a Noahide-compliant religion. Later authorities softened that position under various medieval social pressures, and some modern rabbis extend Noahide status to Christians on the grounds that Christian monotheism, however theologically deficient in their estimation, does not qualify as outright paganism. But the point is, under the Noahide framework, it is the rabbinic courts that make that determination whether Christianity carries a capital offense, not Christians.
For example, GotQuestions.org, a mainstream evangelical resource used by millions, acknowledges this and reads, “The Talmud calls for capital punishment for Gentiles who violate the Noahide Laws.” Some Jews disagree with this and claim that the Rabbinic rulings from the Middle Ages are not as authoritative as modern Rabbis, who know that Israel’s survival depends upon the special favors given it by evangelical Christians in the American Bible Belt. You’ll still find plenty of modern Rabbis posting the opposite on YouTube, speaking directly to their local synagogue or study group, longing for the day that Christians can finally be put to death for idolatry. In any event, the question of whether your worship of Jesus Christ constitutes a capital offense is an open question in Talmudic jurisprudence, and the people answering it are not Christians.
Chabad.org states the underlying jurisdictional logic in plain English, drawing from the Encyclopedia Talmudit: non-Jews living under Jewish governance have no “sovereign jurisdiction of their own.” Jews are judged by Torah law everywhere in the world. Gentiles are judged by the Noahide Law as administered by Jewish authority. If Greg Abbott read those exact words in an Arabic document about Islamic governance, he would have them on a billboard by morning and a Fox News segment by afternoon, and probably have them surrounded by Texas Rangers and have them perp-walked to a Texas prison somewhere by supper time.
THE SHARIA PARALLEL
Sharia and Noahide Law share the same structural architecture. Both claim divine origin. Both govern civil, criminal, and personal life comprehensively. Both are administered by a religious scholarly class whose interpretations bind the governed. Both carry capital penalties in their classical formulations. Both assign non-adherents a subordinate legal status with fewer procedural protections than adherents receive. The 1906 Jewish Encyclopedia makes the double standard explicit: “In the elaboration of these seven Noachian laws, and in assigning punishments for their transgression, the Rabbis are sometimes more lenient and sometimes more rigorous with Noachidae than with Israelites.”
American conservatives have been loudly and comprehensively educated about one of these systems for twenty years. Evangelical leaders have preached on it (just yesterday, Mark Driscoll was posting clips of himself warning the world about the dangers of Islam encroaching on Western liberties). Republican governors have signed legislation against it and collected substantial political capital for doing so. The other system gets an annual presidential proclamation and a governors’ sweep every spring. Abbott signed legislation banning Sharia compounds in Texas, and a few months later, signed his annual Noahide proclamation, and nobody in his political orbit has apparently noticed the glaring contradiction of banning one and proclaiming the other. Abbot is not stupid. He is just the product of what happens when hundreds of millions of dollars are spent each year in a sophisticated American influence operation that has been running for fifty years without serious interruption or scrutiny. It’s what happens when what people are complaining about Islam trying to accomplish is actually accomplished by Rabbinic Judaism instead.
THE CHABAD MACHINE
In 1978, President Jimmy Carter signed the first Education and Sharing Day proclamation honoring Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson on his birthday. Sneerson is believed by many Chabad adherents to be the actual Messiah; some believe he’ll rise from the dead, while others believe he was transported to Heaven like Elijah and will return. Every president since Carter has signed a proclamation in his honor annually.
In 1982, Ronald Reagan’s proclamation affirmed that the Rebbe’s work demonstrated “the eternal validity of the Seven Noahide Laws, a moral code for all of us regardless of religious faith.” The hell it is. Speak for yourself.
In 1991, Congress passed House Joint Resolution 104, putting this language into federal public law: the Noahide Laws are “the ethical values and principles which are the basis of civilized society and upon which our great Nation was founded.” Of course, that claim is a damnable lie. The United States was not founded on Temu-Sharia. That’s absurd. Nonetheless, that resolution has been federal law (not just a proclamation) for thirty-five years. Congress declared, with full legislative authority, that a Talmudic framework sourced from tractate Sanhedrin is the moral foundation of the United States of America. Not the Bible. Not the Ten Commandments. But the Noahide Laws, as codified in the Babylonian Talmud and administered through rabbinic courts, are the foundation of our great nation.
In 2018, all 50 governors signed proclamations praising the Chabad Messiah and invoking Noahide language. Every single one. Greg Abbott was on that list, signing a document honoring the Rebbe and commending his Noahide framework as the ethical foundation of civilization, the same year he was building his political brand around banning Islamic religious governance from Texas soil. The irony is thick, but apparently invisible.
Want to see the extent of Jewish lobbying power? Try to get all 50 governors to sign legislation lauding the Holy Bible or the Ten Commandments as the foundation for American legal jurisprudence. I dare you, because there’s not a chance in hell that would work. Christians just don’t have the lobbying power that Jews do.
The Rebbe’s goal was explicit and documented. In 1983, Schneerson launched a formal global campaign to promote Noahide observance among all Gentile nations. Schneerson said, “Every Jew has the obligation to ensure that all the peoples of the world observe the Seven Noahide Laws. An integral component of the Jew’s task is to see to it that all peoples, not just Jews, acknowledge God as creator and ruler of the world.” Anthropologist Rachel Feldman of Dartmouth College, who has studied the movement extensively, describes Noahidism as a “new world religion” that carves out a place for non-Jews in the messianic Zionist project, noting that the Orthodox rabbis driving the Noahide movement are largely supporters of the Third Temple project who believe the Messianic era begins with the establishment of a Jewish theocratic state supported by Noahide communities worldwide. American politicians are signing onto a messianic program and filing it under civic virtue.
Are you tracking with that? The Chabad-Lubavitch Noahide recognition and education program is an intentional step toward creating a one-world global Theocracy, bringing the Messiah into the not-yet-built Third Temple to begin the Messianic age, when Jews rule the world. That’s what Greg Abbot just signed onto, and what the U.S. president and each state governor signs onto annually.
David Novak, professor of Jewish theology and ethics at the University of Toronto, called it what it is. He stated that “if Jews are telling Gentiles what to do, it’s a form of imperialism.” A Jewish scholar of Jewish ethics said that about this movement. Conservative media, which has built an entire industry on warning Christians about Islamic imperialism, has not run a single serious segment on the observation.
THE THEOLOGICAL PROBLEM FOR CHRISTIANS
The Noahide Laws are a Talmudic framework for governing Gentile nations under rabbinic jurisdiction, and they are theologically incompatible with Christianity at the most fundamental point: the lordship of Jesus Christ over all nations and all peoples.
Christians are not Noahides. We are not a subordinate Gentile class awaiting governance by rabbinic courts while the Jewish Messiah’s arrival is being prepared. We are children of God through Jesus Christ, heirs of the Abrahamic covenant fulfilled in the Messiah whom Israel rejected. The law we answer to is the law of Christ, who declared that all authority in heaven and on earth had been given to Him. The court we stand before is the throne of the Son of Man before whom every knee bows and every tongue confesses, including the knees and tongues of those currently debating in their Talmudic commentaries whether our worship of Him constitutes a capital offense.
The Noahide framework does not merely exclude Christianity. It subordinates it. It places the synagogue above the church, the Talmud above the New Testament, and rabbinic authority above the risen Christ. Every politician signing these proclamations endorses that theological claim, whether he understands it or not. The Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, Yitzhak Yosef, declared in a 2016 sermon that under Jewish law, non-Jews are forbidden to live in the Land of Israel unless they have accepted the seven Noahide Laws, adding: “If the non-Jew is unwilling to accept these laws, then we can send him to Saudi Arabia.” The Chief Rabbi of Israel said that in a formal sermon. It received no coverage in American conservative media, which was busy that week covering the threat of Islamic religious law.
Most politicians signing these proclamations do not understand what they are signing. That ignorance is not a bug in the operation. It is the operation. Chabad does not need its signatories to understand the theological implications. It only needs the signatures, and it has been collecting them from every president and every governor in America for nearly fifty years.
THE QUESTION CONSERVATIVES DON’T ASK
Abbott will run this election cycle on a platform to stop Sharia. He will talk about EPIC City, CAIR, and the Muslim Brotherhood, and his fierce defense of Texas values against foreign religious legal systems seeking to govern Americans without their consent. The crowds will cheer, and the Fox News segments will run, and the donor checks will arrive.
Nobody will ask him why the Talmudic legal code he endorses annually, sourced from tractate Sanhedrin, carrying capital penalties for idolatry, administered by rabbinic courts with no appeal available to Gentiles, and explicitly designed to govern all non-Jewish nations in preparation for the Jewish Messiah, is the moral bedrock of America in his proclamations but unmentionable alongside Sharia in his stump speeches. Nobody will ask because the lobby that produced his Sharia education has a strong institutional interest in making sure that comparison never occurs to him or to his voters.
The Jewish lobby has achieved something no other foreign-linked religious movement has come close to matching in American history. It has gotten every president, every governor, and the United States Congress to formally endorse its framework for governing Gentile nations, in official government documents, annually, for nearly fifty years, without debate, without press scrutiny, and without a single prominent conservative commentator noticing that the man banning so-called “Sharia compounds” was signing Noahide proclamations with his other hand. That is the record of a nearly omnipotent political lobby that has achieved complete informational dominance over the politicians and Christian leaders who should be its most theologically motivated critics.
It’s been said, “Nobody messes with Texas.” But considering the Jewish lobby just got the entire state government to sign onto a scheme designed to secure the messianic reign of a dead rebbe in New York - and they weren’t smart enough to know what exactly they’re signing - it appears they just did.

When I was a kid I read a Chick publications tract about the end times and the only thing about it that has stuck in my head all these years is the part where it showed that believers in CHRIST would be persecuted and and executed by mobile guillotines.
